====== The Aeserian Eighth Fleet ====== Typically, the .:Aeserian navy was organized around seven fleets. During the ..:events:Mu Crisis King Nadu III ordered construction of a airship fleet to provide transport to and defense against .:Onisi. The number eight has deep numerological significance in Aeseri culture- it represents the sky as well as death. ===== History ===== The Aeserian Eighth Fleet launched from Abayahn'Nu on 4/6/1253 4E. It was severely damaged in the Battle of Onisi, with only about one third of the ships surviving. ===== Ships of the Eighth Fleet ===== Below are the names and styles of the ships that took part of the eighth fleet, as well as any notes about their dates of service and fates in various battles. ==== Battleships ==== Large ships bristling with weaponry on multiple decks. Captains are automatically granted voting seats in the Captain's Council. * Chashi'Kal * Kashiki'Kal - constructed and crewed by survivors of Kashiki'Nu. The ship carries a giant banner based on the carvings that used to sit on the city's cliffs before they were destroyed. It reads "Though the mountains fall, our resolve will not be moved" * (Aeseri'Kal) - construction was planned for a flagship built for the capitol peoples, but the destruction of the capital earlier in the year left too few laborers to complete construction. The Aeseri'Vinay was constructed instead ==== Command Cruisers ==== Built with a myriad of flags and other communication equipment, command cruisers are medium sized ships responsible for keeping the fleet organized and on-task. Captains of command cruisers are automatically made squadron commanders and given voting seats at the Captain's council. * Aeseri'Vinay - Flag ship of the Eighth fleet, built and crewed by survivors of Aeseri'Nu. Captained by King Nadu III himself * Kalik'Vinay ==== Battle Cruisers ==== Medium sized ships built for combat. Captains must be of higher caste and can command squadrons. The "'vash" suffix translates to "servant of..." * Hongra'vash * Chai'vash * Jomba'vash * Fosana'vash * Trisi'vash * Isa'vash - 2nd squadron * Aesis'vash ==== Frigates ==== Small general purpose craft with a crew of about 50. Frigates are suffixed with either "rut" (meaning sea-fairing ship) or "sangri" (meaning "escort") * Ruto'sangri * Hasala'rut * Uran'sangri - crash landed on Onisi with major damage but with its structure intact. Survivors commanded by Lieutenant Nasri Fidai. * Hangra'rut * Vasala'rut * Zhen'sangri * Chosi'rut * Uras'sangri - 2nd squadron * Eris'rut * Nurish'sangri * Faelan'sangri * Zoru'rut - 2nd squadron * Zon'sangri * Bashi'rut * Danali'sangri * Guha'sangri ==== Corvettes ==== Small, hastily built craft that usually cannot be crewed by more than a dozen men. Many are unarmed and simply meant for boarding and scouting purposes, though some are mounted with crew weaponry. Captains of Corvettes are commonly from the worker caste and not given a seat at Captain's councils. They instead report to the squadron commander, who is elected by other captains. * Goeza * Yushani'Kal * Zhenshai * Roesh'ai * Vasi'Vasi * Faesh - 2nd * Jambani * Oka'laina * Esenchi * Quanshan * Khalja'van * Dorisal * Isiri * Nonbin'esha * Zori'bal * Lashinm * Borich'ras * Mani'kha * Janni'gal * Jahali * Firix'rhash * Ganal'usa * Harish'shalam * Ereshin - 2nd squadron * Ibelechal * Pani'Vana * Lorish'ba * Tetri'gamba * Yaharchi * Yal'ka'bish * La'bonishala * Veckali * Erch'bana * Posib ==== Other ==== Various craft that do not fit in the standard command structure.
