====== Dythonian Rangers ======
Rangers in Dythos are very similar to the Rangers of [[polemos:4th_age:factions:agothos|Agothos]], though the realities of frontier life have led them to diverge from their mainland counterparts. 
Like in Agothos, Rangers in Dythos are appointed by the [[polemos:4th_age:religions:church_of_eleytheria|Church of Eleytheria]] and recruited from monasteries that train new warrior-monks, often hidden in the wilderness.

Rangers in Dythos often work alone, and do not lead free companies or have military rank.
They focus on ensuring law and order is served in the colonies, often acting as traveling marshals.
While Dythonian Rangers are still sworn to the Cause of Liberty, Emancipations in Dythos are extremely rare.
The frontier offers almost unlimited freedom, but offers little protection from the lawless.

Rangers in Dythos are also the primary force used to pacify and civilize [[polemos:4th_age:factions:saniori|Saniori]] tribes.
By learning and exploiting local tribal rivalries Dythos's southern border is kept safe without a standing army and minimal Dythonian bloodshed.
