As a result of [[polemos:3rd_age:events:elesh_rebellion|The Great War]], monsters can be found throughout the world.
Some are evil spirits that were able to come to Polemos because of the weakened boundaries with the unbounded spiritual realms.
Others are corruptions of natural creatures that have been twisted by left-over magical energies and aftershocks.

Monsters in Polemos are do not fill a scientific taxonomy.
Most monsters are one-of-a-kind, though some do attempt to categorize them by their forms and powers.
