The 9th age begins with the perfection of the [[.:technologies:Vannhausen Device]] that allows for vehicles to move past the [[..:8th Age:Eriv Zone]] and exit the atmosphere. Near-light speed engines are eventually built, allowing for relatively fast travel within the [[.:locations:Aelios]] system. The age ends with the invention of Faster-Than-Light engines.
