====== Many in Freedom: Act III ====== //The year is AE 242. For three and half years the world has been at war, and the continent of Polus has seen the worst it has to offer. The specters of fear, envy, pain, and death engulf its nations. Constructionist forces, led by the United Security Command, have crushed the rump state led by the Senate - officially ending the Republic of Agathos. With the installment of their Divine Machine complete, they now invade the breadbasket of Filos, seeking to take control of the interior beyond and starve those resisting their rule of industry and resources. The only thing now standing in their way, the last line of defense before total capitulation, is the fledgling army of the Agathos Reform Coalition.// //Combining the strength of five major factions, the forces of the ARC represent some seventy million people from more than four races, three religions, and half a dozen cultures. Their differences for years have been the source of civil war, but in the months since the coalition's formation most people now speak of reunification as a certainty. The question of the day is whether it will be through constitution or USC occupation.// //To that end, each faction has found its role to play in the fight against the common enemy. The FDC with its 4 million men; the Commonwealth with its rich deposits; Free Vernick with its factories; and the FPU with its help for the poor and displaced. Finally, the Federation has become first among equals as the coalition's moral conscious and brave heart. That, and of course, the owner of the free world's only MARCS ship - the Reconciliation.// //This army now gathers at the Filonian citadel at Ravenhold - outnumbered three to one they stand against USC's ship Salvation. It will be the first time MARCS ships have faced either other in combat, and no one knows for sure what plans will work or fail, what assumptions and calculations will be made obsolete, what strength will win the day. This battle of titans will decide not only the fate of the war, but how wars are fought altogether.// //But the soldiers of the ARC do not shrink from this trial. Together they shout "Many in Freedom, One under God." These are not the days of Michael's false crusade, where lies and blind zealotry replaced prudence and justice. Rather, they announce that though they may be divided by race, faith, creed, or any number of ways, they are numerous and united under a shared spirit to protect the freedom of all people. // //At the front of these ranks, the Rangers of Seraphim Squad stand. Already heroes by any measure, they have inspired many to join this bulwark against tyranny of the USC. Now they must lead it in battle. They must struggle forward until, at last, the immortal of the so-called Divine Machine can be cast down; the prophecy of old fulfilled another time; the world made safer and freer for the sake of the next generation.// //Yet behind the veil of these things, the angel Tzadkiel moves forward with divine purpose. Sweeping his fiery spear across the land, he binds the hearts of men together and raises his army to cast out foolish princes and false gods. With his unceasing gaze he guides the hands of men at war, bestowing protection and victory over their enemies. With his mouth he whispers the Truth that silences the lies of the wicked and the doubts of the righteous. With his mighty hand, he places his battle cry on the lips of free people.// // In one voice he has them cry out - "Many in Freedom, One under God."//
