====== Human ======
Humans are the oldest known mortal race, and the race that the fate of [[..:|Polemos]] was cast upon by the divine - a fact they meet with varying levels of reverence. Highly adaptable, humans embody the meaning of the word contradiction. Physically capable of living in almost any environment yet fragile enough to be killed by the smallest amount of water, deeply sensitive to all things spiritual yet ever doubtful even of the existence of the supernatural, selfless enough to volunteer a million souls for the smallest of ideas yet selfish enough to doom an entire world for meager personal gain; humans confound and fascinate all that meet them. 

Imbued with an unyielding drive to "go forth and multiply" they have, with head held high, traveled to every corner of Polemos and are the overwhelming majority of its population.  Humans are also very industrious and most find intense joy in labor, lending them great economic and industrial power over the other mortal races. Life to a human is a constant struggle for survival, prosperity, ideas, and self-improvement; a struggle they more often than not face with enviable willpower and resilience. 

Humans were endowed by their supposed creator [[polemos:celestials:eleytheria|Eleytheria]] with complete and total free will which means they can be good, evil, or more likely anything in-between. The noblest of sacrifices and the vilest of crimes have all been known to humans, and each man in the end must choose for themselves where they stand. Taken as a single person this makes humans fickle and compromising compared to other races, but together as a group this makes them either truly united or hopelessly indecisive. The greatest armies and nations of Polemos are always built when humans decide, separately for a million different reasons, to contribute their free will to a common calling. Yet these plans are often undone with the smallest betrayal or dissention. Whether they are envied, admired, distrusted, or hated for it humans cannot be ignored when they stand together.

===== Social Attributes =====
  * Fundamental differences across cultures, very few commonalities. With time members of completely different cultures may find common ground.
  * Most favor industry to laziness, order to chaos, and happiness to sadness. Exceptions exist, though. Most cultures are religious in some form. What God or gods are/are not worshiped and why has a major impact on the values expected.
  * Most societies are highly adaptable and ever-changing.
  * Can grow in population rapidly.

  * Full of contradictions
  * Most honestly believe they serve what is right, rarely do humans actively do evil purely for evil's sake. Almost always seek rewards for doing good, rarely do humans actively do good purely for good's sake.
