Cold partner of the "Milbury Twins" Marion makes up for it's lack of fertile soil with rare natural resources, short seasons, and easy access from the common hyperspace entry point for the system. 

More industrial than it's hot neighbor Marion is also regional trade post for goods on their way to [[.:Providence]]. Staunchly conservative, Marionites often look down on their lawless and wild neighbors in [[.:Lafayette]], and the more rebellious systems in the border regions. Marion also dominates Lafayette politically, and through ancient trickery was able to get the planets represented by a single seat at the Commonwealth Congress. Their representative nearly always votes how the Milbury Alliance (which Lafayette does not participate in) instructs.
