A coastal city set on an island in the central Tannah Sea near Lixoba, and thought to be one of the oldest cities outside of Qhashdea and Orises. The current city sits atop the ruins of an under-city of a clearly Arthenian culture. The mystery of how a 2nd Age Arthenian city came to be in Centras is unsolved, but some speculate links to the legends of Eredocia.
Damaged in the Great War, the city survived mostly intact, and welcomed large numbers of Pheocian refugees during the founding of Ezkaphecia. Though the government has undergone upheavals several times, often around ethic tensions, the Thespolian government is typically a blending of Agothian and Pheocian republican systems. A hereditary Basileus rules as head of state, but with taxes and laws originating in a Synkletos with seats reserved for ethnic Pheocians and trade unions.
Even deeper than the under-city, however, lies the ruins of a sprawling palace complex even older than the under-city, simply called the labyrinth due to its reputation for its maze-like design and dangerous monsters. Despite repeated attempts the bottom has not been found, though many expeditions have simply disappeared, presumed to have died and thus unable to report their findings.
