Zulit

A monotheistic religion native to Zulithan named after its chief prophet Zulit, whose name came to mean meditation. Born in the darkness of the midnight dunes during the chaotic collapse of old Orises, Zulit spent weeks at a time fasting in the wilderness. There he received revelations from a voice on the wind, which he called Sofia, or Wisdom. From those he began teaching a philosophy to explain the fall of Orises and guide those that would listen to survive in the growing darkness.

Zulit beliefs spread quickly afterwards, and is now practiced by most of the underclass of Zulithan. Despite differences with the official Yahnvaistic faith of the elite, the pacifism of the Zulit and the caste system of Yahnvaism has allowed for a lasting, if sometimes uneasy, co-existance.

The major revelations of Zulit include:

  1. There is one God, not many.
  2. God is omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent.
  3. The Great War was a judgement against Elesh, who was an agent of the The Darkness.
  4. The collapse of the “Low Kingdom” was a judgement from God against Orises for joining Elesh's rebellion and enslaving His people.
  5. Magic is a tool of Elesh.
  6. It is the duty of the Zulithan to atone for their rebellion, to push back The Darkness until God brings The Light to save them.
  7. This Light will purge the world with fire, and those who lived righteously will rise from the dead to live forever.
