Polemos Lore Suggestions

Listed below are a few suggestions to take into consideration when writing lore for Polemos. Polemos is a vast world and there are often exceptions to the rule, so you do not have to follow these to the letter; rather these suggestions are focused on the themes or “spirit” that you should follow.

First Principles

True

Polemos operates on the aspiration that the closer a story is to The Truth, the more interesting, engaging, and timeless it will be. Stories in Polemos are not intended to serve as propaganda or lecture the audience, but care should be taken that the fiction does not serve our delusions.

Amerocentric

Polemos is targeted mainly at an American audience, though it is not meant to be exclusive to it. Timeless truths will speak to all times and cultures, but the 'thick' concepts used are primarily targeted at American assumptions. Namely - the blending of the reason of Athens, the faith of Jerusalem, and the confidence of Camelot.

For this reason concepts, philosophies, spirit names, and place names often use Greek, Hebrew, or Old English words or word-plays. New languages that build upon the deep connections of these real-world inspirations (ala Tolkien) would have been preferrable, but this author lacks the education and time for such a noble undertaking.
