Second planet of the Nostos system, Illusa was a colony world lost from foldspace travel shortly after the Butlerian Jihad. Navigators at the time reported a 'mist' clouding the system, making travel functionally impossible. Rediscovered by navigators in 10,191 A.G., the planet was the site for the Marcher Entail, colloquially known as the Eriad War or Reintegration War.

The planet is known locally with various linguistic renditions of “Illium.” This was first rendered into Galach as “Illusa” by Guild survey teams questioning indigenous people.

Initially discovered and quickly settled in the early 100's B.G. by refugees from the Noble League, Illusa grew quickly into a symbol of an idyllic agrarian world under the implied threat of the machine menace. The world, far from the war, saw little damage from the conflict, but also could not fully participate in the Butlerian Jihad owing to its relatively low population. Around 56 A.G. navigators traveling to Illusa began reporting a 'mist' clouding their foldspace calculations, making travel more difficult. A increased dose of spice solved the issue at first, but the problem of the mist increased such that by the 80's A.G. travel was made all by impossible. Periodic attempts were made to reconnect until the 200's A.G., but ultimately the world's disappearance was not viewed by imperial society as anything beyond a interesting mystery, and it's loss a simple cost of doing business in the post-Jihad expansion.

Little is known about the culture of the native Illusans, though importantly they appear to be ruled by disunited houses or tribes.
