Second Age - The Age of Advancement/High Imperial Era
The second age was a time of empire-building. Humanity had grown to inhabit most every place on the globe, and in most areas moved on from tribal warfare to concerns of hegemony over surrounding nations. One of the earliest and grandest of these would be the Romalian Empire, a north-centrian empire of ethnic Agasians built on suppression (and secret use of) use of magic. Other empires and great nations tracing their origins to the 2nd age include Aeseria, Vernick, and the Agothonian republic.
These empires, though often quick to brittle due to internal strife or warfare with other empires, would grow steadily in power and knowledge over time, to the point that their rulers were often seen as divine. The rise of the god-kings would reach a climax with the Elesh Rebellion, where one man would seek to overthrow the divine, kicking off the Great War of the 3rd Age.
