Background: Before the Mu appeared Jan was a Knight in a sleepy corner of Anthegalia, and it was relatively unchanged by their coming. The kingdom split politically around whether to lend aid to humanity or not. His liege was in the isolationist faction, but Jan supported expedition and used the opportunity for a risky maneuver to replace him. It went poorly, and Jan was forced to resign in disgrace. He traveled with the Anthegal expedition as a Knight-errant and joined the Akris along with his countrymen.
