Geography
History
Origin
The country of Herin was an unclaimed desert after Heral fell in the 6th age but refugees and deserters of war trying to find a place with no fighting settled in the desert and the society evolved into a country.
What started as nearly tribal societies combined and grew into a society and country all its own with unique culture and ideas.
Fall of Krishna
Krishna was the first leader of Herin after it declared its Sovereignty. He claimed he was working in the best interest of the people when he was actually gaining power in a near Communist society. As his power grew so did the bureaucracy under him. Eventually a small band of rebels rallied support against Krishna and over threw his government.
Long War
A parliamentary democracy and member of the NIST, it prefers to stay out of the affairs of old Agathos. That is, except as an arms trader – it is rumored to be making a fortune by selling weapons and supplies to all western factions as a neutral supplier. In return, it hires out mostly to mercenary forces to protect it from direct assaults from its enemies: Al Selem and Touyou.

Science and Technology
Trying to catch up to the rest of the world, Herin is not a leader in technological revolutions but will adapt technology from surrounding countries quickly. This idea is followed by the citizens who try to be technocrats but fall short in the true meaning. It is not uncommon to see a citizen augmenting his body with a myriad of non matching parts just to appear tech savvy and will claim to be as such.
Transportation
Energy
Herin was one of the last countries to adopt KH engine technology and only 53% of their vehicles use it. With the ecological demands of a return to combustion engines they left it as such trying to strike a balance between the technological and the ecological.
