Honaga Masaki, born AE 216 in Neo-Meikyou's Koutengai dome to a construction worker father, mother died due to illness at age 4. President of swim team in high school, graduated with average scores. Accused swim team advisor of sexual harassment, accused's employment was terminated but prosecutor declined to charge. Worked for same construction firm as father in cargo driver and crane operator positions until his death in freak work accident in AE237.

Attended and graduated NMCPD training academy, posted to VIP protection division as convoy driver. Obtained private pilot's license independently, transferred to NMCPD air unit. Flew overwatch and transport missions for NMCPD SWAT and VIP division until AE 240. Grounded and assigned to desk position after training accident left 1 severely injured and loss of 9 million credit aircraft. Assigned to Shibou Yomi mission at personal request of the Prime Minister. A Section 2 due-diligence investigation on the origin of the request determined she used personal sway obtained from frequent transport of the Minster of Justice to request assignment. Recordings obtained of her conversations with the Minister of Justice reveal she claimed to have seen a re-occurring “man in her dreams” for many years, who she believes may be related in some way to the discovery in the Shibou Yomi.

Masaki is hard-working, highly motivated, and aloof. Her lack of high intellect is offset by sharp intuition - her sense of danger is finely tuned and is quick to judge the actions and abilities of others. She is uninterested in the opinions of others but recognizes results, and knows how to meet the expectations of a wide variety of social groups.
