| The second age was a time of empire-building. Humanity had grown to inhabit most every place on the globe, and was numerous enough to begin thinking of tribute from or permanent rule over neighbors, rather than migration or tribal warfare. One of the earliest and most dominant of these would be the [[.:factions:malia|Malian Empire]], a northern centrian empire of ethnic Agasians built on the extensive use of magic. These magical empires would grow steadily in power and knowledge to the point that their rulers were often seen as divine. The rise of the god-kings would reach a climax with the [[.:events:Elesh Rebellion]], where a man would seek to overthrow the divine, kicking off the Great War of the 3rd Age. | The second age was a time of empire-building. |
