====== The Elesh Rebellion ======
Also called the "Great War" or the "War against Heaven."
The Elesh Rebellion (or Eleshite Rebellion) was a movement led by [[polemos:3rd_age:characters:elesh|Elesh]] to right all wrongs in the world, restore immortality for mankind, and ultimately replace the divine order by allowing man to obtain godhood.

The war, for various reasons, saw unchecked magical power used in a manner not seen before nor since.
This, in turn, led to extremely severe magical disasters, such that no region was untouched afterwards, and many were unrecognizable from before.
The rebellion was ultimately ended when Elesh was imprisoned by the [[polemos:celestials:adel|Archangel Adel]] after the destruction of [[..:locations:Utopolis]].
Due to the cataclysmic scale of the fighting, however, the fate of Elesh was not widely believed by all.
Many in ages to come would still invoke his name, though rarely his methods, for their own causes in the belief that he would one day return.
