Background: When the Mu Crisis started Nike was already a Ranger, and she returned to her hometown of Phulpolis to protect it. Her people had taken heavy losses but she found her city surviving. Their cost for survival was high- it was only due to instituting a harsh, inhumane theocracy headed by her brother- Ariston Aspolonis. Debates and pleading would not sway her brother. Nike began a bloodless coup- an Emancipation- but it went poorly and devolved into civil war. Nike ended up having to slay her own brother to stop the killing, a fact that haunts her still.
