| ====== Whites ====== | ====== Whites ====== |
| The whites are a sectarian faction of Dythos that existed in the 13th century 4A and are dedicated to fairness, egalitarianism, and compassion. They see the injustice of their society as intentional and systematic, and are willing to turn the culture upside-down in order to build a more enlightened framework for living. Whites are usually collectivists, and may see the best way to produce a fair society is to form hyper-communal "enclaves" that are run by the most educated and most enlightened leaders. The group is designed to take care of their individuals at all costs, which they see as invariably needing to overturn bigoted social traditions, to which they sometimes include religion. The whites are popular with the poor, bureaucrats, intellectuals, and ethnic minorities such as the Saniori. Whites in general dislike Dythos's colonial culture, and see blues as only a few steps above barbaric tyrants. They were especially concerned with the Sovereign's crack-down on enclaves and universities, and the imposition of near martial law in Genopolis. | The whites were a sectarian faction of Dythos founded under the auspices to advance the values of equality, compassion, and fairness. |
| | |
| | Membership was drawn from the urban poor, ethnic Saniori, bureaucrats, rural estate laborers, and intellectuals. |
| | Whites were more varied in their specific aims than Blues, but often saw societal problems as intentional and systematic, and were more often in favor of sudden and radical cultural changes. |
| | This put them at odds with more traditional institutions such as the temples, but would often see the Whites act as the voice of populism and cults of personality. |
| | |
| | More so than Blues, Whites often disagreed on methods and ultimate goals, with moderates favoring popular movements for incremental reforms and radicals indulging in violent insurrection. |
| | To circumvent traditional power bases, Whites would sometimes form urban //enclaves//, where educated individuals would rule over hyper-collectivized areas with parallel legal structures, and acted as an experimental social order free from traditional colonial culture and religious norms. |
