It considers all gods as belonging to a "Divine Council" often with equivalents to the .:Qhashdean pantheons, with spirits of all kinds serving the gods in a web of shifting loyalty and tribute. Ur (ascribed to El/..:..:celestials:Chronos) is seen as King of the gods and Creator of the cosmos, but absent due to having to hold the door to Elesh's prison shut. Ophis also ascribes human flaws to all the gods, and organizes them in a complex family tree mirroring a royal court. Importantly the goddess Arsara (ascribed to ..:..:celestials:Perifania) is believed to be queen to Ur, and serving currently as regent of the divine council. In many Ophistic cults the dragon Abad (ascribed to ..:..:celestials:Apollyon) is currently serving as the dragon-consort to Arsara, and dragons are highly revered as servants of the divine council. ===== Syncretism ===== ==== The Divine Council ==== <WRAP quarter> ^ Perifanic Deity ^ Classical Pantheon Deity ^ | Royal Heads of the Council || |Elesh |Elesh | |Ur |Chronos | |Abad |..:..:celestials:Apollyon | |Arsara |..:..:celestials:Perifania | | Ministers of the Council || |Nahar |Erihal | |Shali |Iremia | |Tallai |Symponia | |Pidray |Eleytheria | |Arsay |Psema | |Hadad |Basano | |Mot |Thymos | |Ashima |Moira | |Kothar |Erevno | |Marqod |Konran | </WRAP> polemos/4th_age/religions/ophis.txt Last modified: 2026/03/12 13:16by Blake Anderton
