The Chaos Miracle
On AE 6/4/238, just as the Benevolence was about to destroy Agalos City with the Chaos Bomb, several members of the ADC were able to nullify the weapon and disable the enemy command ship.

Several view-points on how this happened exist. All that is for certain is that the Benevolence was damaged before its chaos bomb could be detonated and crashed onto the shores of Lake Agalos. It marked a turning point in the Agathonian civil war and is credited with inspiring the creation of the United Free People's Federation.
Orthodox Arthenian View
According to many of those present, Agkelos were summoned from the sky, and directly caused the damage to the Benevolence. The Unternational Orthodoxy did not immediately support this position due to implications it might have on the teaching of the Cessation. In later years, after formal testimony by Reiko Eleythos the body formally affirmed their belief in the event, and provided an explanation in line with the Cessation.
USC View
Initially after the events, the USC announced they believed the Benevolence to have suffered a major frame failure due to metal fatigue caused by Chaos pollution, a new form of pollution they believed similar to K-H pollution, but more pronounced and longer lasting.
