The 8th Age of Man: The Age of Expectation
The 8th Age began during a world-changing event at the end of the 7th Age that was long debated afterward. For example, some say that the god of technology, Erevno, removed all spiritual entities from Polemos so that he might reign supreme in the world. The Orthodoxy instead claims that their awaited savior ascended to the First World and instituted the Cessation. Still others, such as the USC, claim that the gods and spirits never existed, and the 7th Age ended when people finally came to realize this. Originally the age was named the Age of Expectation by the Orthodoxy, who adopted the AE moniker on the timeline. Non-orthodox began to adopt it, however, and spin it to their preferences (ex: Age of Erevno, Age of Enlightenment, etc). In an era where communication was instantaneous and religions could span the globe, the world more than ever could not agree on fundamental issues of how to view the world.
