Rangers of Giant Squad raided a syndicate residence in Pyrkagia today, where a pitched gun battle raged for over half an hour before commonwealth military police arrived. In all over a dozen mid-to-high ranking syndicate members were killed or captured. Local authorities stressed the operation was independently run by RANGECOM and vowed to 'bring justice to these foreign invaders.' Experts predict the syndicate would likely retaliate against ARC industrial assets and local government offices for 'collusion with outsiders.' Rangers of Giant Squad raided a syndicate residence in Pyrkagia today, where a pitched gun battle raged for over half an hour before commonwealth military police arrived.  +//Spoken by [[polemos:8th_age:characters:jamis_avery_heraldshire|Jamis Wesdom V]] from a private jet, still bloody from the night's attack//
 +
 +My dear subjects,
 +
+Earlier tonight, several attacks were made against members of the royal houses. My security detail made great sacrifices in exchange for my life, but my son and heir to the Wesdom crown Henry, my darling wife Roanna, and the Warick claimants to the Essdom crown have all been murdered.
 +
+We now know that the attacks were a conspiracy of Durnst and his USC masters, and it is clear they have no intentions to see peace on the continent. Rather they have chosen total war - the destruction of Filos. The royal lines for both crowns is ended; the reason for four years of civil war has been reduced to ash. The hundreds of thousands that died - monarchist or republican - have died for nothing. The mass battlefield trials, the bombing campaigns, all the things we thought necessary, in the end they brought no good ends. I had planned to abdicate to my son within the year, so that the nation might heal, ruled without bloody hands such as mine, but he is now dead.
 +
+And with him has died the last hope of this nation. The monsters that the arthenians loosed in their hubris now knock on our door, and as we cry for help they answer only with preconditions.
 +
+But if we are to fall, let us leave this world with vengeance. The world has recoiled at our dark deeds, counted our ghosts, let us show these so-called Divine Machines that we are the barbarians they should rightly fear. Let us invite them into the killing fields of Filos, and make for them a nightmare such that these immortals are eternally haunted by our name.
 +
+Follow me, everyone, to total war once more. Filos, land of the loyal, follow your King on this nation's final journey - to bloody all those that stole our dreams from us, to the last man, to the last breath.

+Six people were killed, including one ABI agent, in the city of Ophylus as peace rioters clashed with the law enforcement task force sent to keep the city's conscription centers open. Leaders of the peace movement leaders called for calm and agreed to a two-day suspension of protests, and the ABI has reciprocated by announcing several checkpoints would be removed and travel restrictions lifted. Several groups in the peace movement rejected the compromise and vowed to continue riots until a peace talk bill was passed by the federation.

+The northern offensive led by the USC MARCS-class ship //Gelaunth// has halted at the official limits of Agalos City. The Polus divine machine announced they would not advance into the old capital if the upcoming peace bills passed in ART member states and talks began. No similar moves were seen on the southern front, where fighting has continued apace.

+Zentetsu Industries announced a new micro drone chassis today. They stated the expected yield per KHU was 12.3, up significantly from the current model.

+[[polemos:8th_age:characters:jamis_avery_heraldshire|Jamis Wesdom V]] was killed today in fighting on the southern Polus front. For over 12 hours the unit he was attached to, the Wesdom Lancers, was surrounded by elements of the USC's 167th System Guard Division. Battlefield reporting confirmed the king died when his heavy tank was destroyed on a desperate last charge. Filos high command soon after confirmation announced his body could not be recovered, would not be given a state funeral en absentia, and would not be succeeded by a new head of state. They instead called for an advance of the entire line, and ordered all units to fight under standing orders until the last man "to follow the last king of Filos."

+Members states of the Agathos Reform Treaty resoundingly rejected votes to pursue peace negotiations with the USC today. The FPU executive committee, the first to seek compromise with the peace movement by announcing the vote, rejected their measure five to three. The FDC voted unanimously against a similar resolution, and a six to one vote at committee prevented the Commonwealth congress from attempting a full vote. In the UFPF both houses rejected the "peace bill" overwhelmingly - 74-23-3 in the assembly and six to zero vote in the Senate. In the wake of the votes peace movement leaders called for officials to respect 'The People's desire for peace' but stopped short of calling for a new wave of protests. Regardless, scattered demonstrations and small-scale riots have been reported across free Agathos into the night.

+The Agathos Bureau of Investigation led a collection of law enforcement and hastily assembled free companies into the city of Ophylus to "restore regular order." Their advance into the city saw some resistance, but under a general order only those suspected of 'leading a sedition group' were actively sought for arrest.
