Commonwealth City

Capitol city of Salem Alliance and Imperial seat of power for the Saquaford Subsector. Sprawling over a large bay in the main southern continent the city is divided vertically into the Old City, which contains commonwealth-era architecture and buildings, and Imperial District (renamed from the Republic District) which contains newer and more cosmopolitan buildings. The Imperial District sits above the Old City via an artificial city surface some 300 meters in the air that itself is about 50 meters thick and contains much of the infrastructure to serve both halves of the city. Ports and garages line the outer edge of this structure (sometimes just called “The Belt” to provide easy trade and efficient travel access to the entire city.
