Cerick remained one of the the closest to [[.:Reiko Eleythos|Reiko]] out of the [[..:Events:The Chaos Miracle|Chaos Miracle]] group.  Though he spent some time in AE 239 helping his father on the northern [[..:Factions:Covenant Council]] front he eventually found himself as Reiko's (and [[.:Tyr Eleythos|Tyr's]]) official bodyguard.  When the [[..:Factions:ufpf|Federation]] was founded he joined the flood of volunteers to its ranks, and rose to become a sniping instructor at the Federation's elite Sniper/Ranger school at [[..:Locations:Fort Resolve]].  Due to his experience and instruction Federation Snipers would become much more flexible than [[..:Factions:USC]] snipers, who could only effectively operate at extreme ranges.  Cerick did this without sacrificing much raw accuracy from his recruits, which led to a distinct advantage for the free people heading into the [[..:Events:#Long War]].
