Erihal

  • Erihal: Eh-ree-hah-el-oo

God of justice and wisdom. Is also the source of culture and things such as writing, poetry, and music.

  • Erihal- language used by the gods of good and their creations

Erihal rarely interacts with mortals himself; having written the laws that forbid celestial interference in Polemos he keeps his own law perfectly. Only when he has direct evidence of meddling by another deity will he step in - and he will try to resolve the situation by bringing it as close to the original status quo.

Erihal's angelic hosts, however, are known to mortals much more commonly. Frequently Erihal will send his warriors, called Judges, to preach righteousness to the people and protect the weak from their oppressors. Other angels may be sent to inspire artists, bring wise counsel to rulers, or help scientists stuck in their research.

Erihal is worshipped by most any culture that is not corrupted by evil's tendrils. Seen as the keeper of civilization, he is the major deity of most advanced societies. More tribal or nature-oriented cultures also worship him, although they focus more on his wisdom as a goal to attain rather than give thanks for his gifts to mortals. He is the patron god of most nobility, travelers, and scholars.
